R&D: How to save money with aircraft multiple purchase?

This post is also available in: frFrançais (French) esEspañol (Spanish)

In the R&D department, the section dedicated to aircraft development allows you to unlock many aircraft and thus widen your purchase choice. By the way, you can also develop many researches to obtain interesting discounts when you purchase multiple aircraft!

How does the “Multiple purchase discount” research work?

The research unlocks the maximum discount achievable but it doesn’t change the discount rate itself. In other words, the discount percentage remains unchanged for a given number of aircraft. The maximum discount without developed research for multiple purchase is 5%.

Simplified example of how the research works

Without any research developed, with a maximum of 5%:

  • 1 aircraft -> 0% discount
  • 2 aircraft -> 1%
  • 3 aircraft -> 2%
  • 4 aircraft -> 3%
  • 5 aircraft -> 4%
  • 6 aircraft -> 5%
  • 7 aircraft -> 5%
  • 8 aircraft -> 5%
  • ….

With a research that increases the maximum to 6% (5% + 1%):

  • 1 aircraft -> 0% discount
  • 2 aircraft -> 1%
  • 3 aircraft -> 2%
  • 4 aircraft -> 3%
  • 5 aircraft -> 4%
  • 6 aircraft -> 5%
  • 7 aircraft -> 6%
  • 8 aircraft -> 6%
  • ….
Let's take a concrete example:

You have developed the research to obtain up to a 3.5% discount. Those 3.5% add to the 5% maximum discount of the beginning.

Thus it gives 5% + 3.5% that corresponds to a 8.5% maximum discount you can enjoy from a given number of aircraft. 😉

The maximum discount is only effective if you purchase a significant number of aircraft

Each research level fully completed grants further discount percentages on the maximum discount achievable.

Tip:

If you complete all the “Multiple purchase discount” researches of each level, you can obtain up to 8%, which gives a total discount of 13%!
